Julia Diaz (advisor Ellery Ingall) has received the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) Scholar Award. Julia's researh area is the biogeochemical cycling of nutrient elements such as phosphorous in the ocean.

 
The National Collegiate Weather Challenge (WxChallenge) 1st place overall individual award went to James Belanger. Mark Jelinek won the Faculty/Staff category (overall rank #7). [link]

 
Annalisa Bracco's new paper in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics identifies a simple scaling law relating the variance of fundamental quantities in 2D turbulence as function of the Reynolds number. [link]
